The title is taken from a famous verse by Molana, celebrated Iranian mystic and poet:
Listen to the reed, how it tells a tale, complaining of the separations
Reeds are highly valued and frequently depicted in Iranian art and literature. The picture of reeds and the sound of wind blowing through the leaves is a metaphor for all the stories told by the cane flute. Here the wind blowing through metal reeds creates a new visual and choral aesthetic. In time, as the weather conditions and rain wear away the iron and as the color and the texture change, the work gains a new appearance every day.
